Green Valley Park

Green Valley Community Park, a beautifully designed park with a lake and wetland, offers expansive open green space for enjoying outdoor activities. While home to the city's soccer leagues the park also provides opportunities for walking along the paved trail, rollerblading, enjoying a family or company picnic under the pavilion or fishing in the pond. Two of the city's many special events, "Easter In The Park" and "Hoot 'n Howl" are held each year at the park.

Hoot n Howl
A spooktacular NRH family autumn tradition continues in 2014 with Hoot n Howl, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Green Valley Park, 7701 Smithfield Road. This popular event has served as a safe and lively place to celebrate the “pumpkin season” for over 20 years. The NRH community stage will be jam-packed with performers, including area children’s dance and vocal groups. A Halloween costume contest will once again be a highlight of the stage activities, with prizes awarded for cutest, best group, most original and scariest, so dress up in your most imaginative costume and be a part of the entertainment! Much excitement for visitors young and old is being planned in the main field areas, with arts and crafts, games, activities and candy for all. Volunteers from area schools and community organizations are currently signing up to assist with games and activities.
