Permits Issued

The City of North Richland Hills has issued gas well drilling permits for the following locations:

Graham Ranch Property (3 wells completed, 2 wells pending)
On May 12, 2006, the City issued its first permit under the Gas Well Drilling and Production Ordinance for a well on private property at 7002 Hightower Dr. The first well at this location was drilled in the summer of 2006 and a second well was drilled in early 2008. The third Graham well was completed in June, 2009. Applications are pending for the fourth and fifth wells at this site. Additional wells may also be drilled at this location in the future.

Morrow Stevens Property (1 well completed, 2 wells pending)
On February 15, 2008 a permit was approved for the Morrow Stevens property, private property located northwest of Kirk Lane and Precinct Line Road. Drilling began at this location in October 2008. The first well was completed in April 2009. Permits for the second and third wells were approved on July 15, 2009.

Birdville ISD Property (3 wells completed)
On August 4, 2008, three permits were approved for drilling on Birdville ISD property located northwest of Broadway Avenue and Richland Plaza Drive. They have recently completed drilling three wells at this location.

Tarrant County College Property (1 well pending)
On May 11, 2009, the City Council approved a special use permit for a drilling site on the southwest corner of the Tarrant County College Northeast Campus. An application has been filed for one well to be drilled and is currently under staff review.

All four drilling sites in North Richland Hills are operated by Chesapeake.
