Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training promotes a partnership between emergency service providers and the community they serve. If a disaster or emergency strikes North Richland Hills and overwhelms or delays emergency responders, CERT members will be will be called upon to help until additional emergency responders arrive. CERT is open to NRH residents and those who work in North Richland Hills. There is no cost to participate, but space is limited and advanced registration is required. In celebration of the Animal Adoption & Rescue Center's one year birthday in their new home and the grand opening of our new City Hall, pet adoption fees will be cut in half from May 7 through May 14, 2016. Join us for a grand opening celebration at your new City Hall on May 13. The event will include an open house starting at 3 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony starting at 6 p.m. on the plaza. The ceremony will conclude with a brief fireworks display. Wear your walking shoes and plan plenty of time to see all areas of the building.
A Sounds of Spring concert featuring Beatles tribute band "The Eggmen" will also be held in the City Hall Plaza starting at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs. A variety of gourmet food trucks will be on site or you are welcome to bring your own picnic, but please no glass containers.
