1Boulevard 26 Intersection ImprovementsThis project will consist of making improvements at two intersections located along Boulevard 26. The two intersections are Boulevard 26 at Rufe Snow Drive and Glenview Drive. These two locations represent a portion of an overall branding and marketing communication strategy planned for the section of Boulevard 26 South of Loop 820. The improvements planned at these two intersections include aesthetic improvements approved by the Richland Hills and North Richland Hills Oversight Committee such as landscaping and streetscaping as well as traffic improvements (e.g. new traffic signals). This is a cooperative effort between the Public Works Department and the Economic Development Department.Engineering
2Commercial Redevelopment ProgramAs part of the redevelopment of the former North Hills Mall site, an 80,000 square foot Medical Office Building (MOB) was constructed on the back portion of the property. This building sits across Calloway Creek from the newly expanded North Hills Hospital (NHH), and the hospital has pre-leased almost half of the space. The $253,000 is to cover half of the proposed cost of the pedestrian bridge to connect NHH with the space it has leased in the MOB. The remaining funds will be utilized to assist in the redevelopment of other retail areas within the City.Planning
3Boulevard 26 Intersection Imp. (@ Rodger Line Rd.)This project will consist of making improvements to the intersection of Boulevard 26 and Rodger Line Rd. This location represents a portion of an overall branding and marketing communication strategy planned for the section of Boulevard 26 South of Loop 820. The improvements planned at this intersection include aesthetic improvements approved by the North Richland Hills Oversight Committee including landscaping and streetscaping. 4Rufe Snow / Glenview Intersection Concept StudyThis project will consist of developing a concept plan to show various possibilities and opportunities in how to enhance the intersection located at Rufe Snow Dr. and Glenview Dr.Planning
 Sign Removal Assistance Program (Not shown on map.)This project assists North Richland Hills businesses who voluntarily choose to remove their non-conforming signs. This project is a cooperative effort between the Planning and Development Department and the Economic Development Department.Ongoing
 Sustainable / Transit / Redevelopment Planning (Not shown on map.)This project will consist of utilizing an approved grant from the North Central Texas Council of Governments to develop a model ordinance for encouraging sustainable development thoughout the city; to hire a planning and design consulting team to develop conceptual plans primarily for the Iron Horse rail station area and secondly for the Smithfield Conservation District station; and to develop city wide redevelopment guidelines and tools to enhance and protect property values in residential, non residential and mixed use areas.Planning
 Commercial Property Enhancement Program (Not shown on map.)This initiative will assist North Richland Hills revitalize several aging structures along the Rufe Snow Drive, Davis Boulevard and Boulevard 26 corridors. The city would target visual enhancements beyond minimum standards required. The initiative hopes to accomplish private investment in single-tenant buildings and community shopping centers by improving the basic look of the business or operation in the three areas. The three basic areas to target are sign removal, sign construction and façade improvement.Planning
