Suzy Compton - Council Place 3

Suzanne "Suzy" Compton was appointed in December 2004 to fill a vacancy on the North Richland Hills City Council. She was elected in May 2005 to continue in the position for a two-year term, and re-elected in 2007.

Mrs. Compton has been employed by the Birdville Independent School District since 1986 and currently serves as coordinator for personnel services. Her previous assignments at Birdville ISD include assistant principal at Smithfield Elementary, assistant principal at Richland High School, alternative school teacher and physical education teacher.

Mrs. Compton has a bachelor of arts degree in physical education and health from the University of Texas at Arlington, a master of education degree from Texas Woman's University, a mid-management certification from Texas Woman's University, and a superintendent certification from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Mrs. Compton served as a North Richland Hills "Yard of the Month" judge in 1998, 1999, 2000 and as an ex officio member of the North Richland Hills Planning and Zoning Commission from August 2003 to December 2004. Previously, she has served on the American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart State Task Force, Wichita Falls American Heart Association Board of Directors, and Children Youth and Family committee member for the City of Wichita Falls.

Mrs. Compton is a member, lector and greeter of Good Shepherd Catholic Community. She and her husband, Larry, have resided in North Richland Hills since 1996.
