Tim Welch - Council Place 7
Tim Welch, P.E. was elected to City Council in November 2002, re-elected for his third
term in May 2007 and served as Mayor Pro-Tem from 2005-2006. He previously served on the
Planning and Zoning Commission and the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee from 1999-2002
and served as Vice Chairman of Planning & Zoning Commission in 2002.
Mr. Welch was born in South Dakota and raised on the family farm south of Bismarck, North Dakota.
He graduated from St. Mary's Central High School and attended North Dakota State University and
earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1986. He is currently the President/Owner
of Welch Engineering, Inc., a consulting civil engineering firm specializing in general land
development projects throughout Texas. Tim has been a licensed Professional Engineer for 17 years.
Tim and his wife, Donna, have been married for 27 years and have lived in North Richland Hills
for 19 years. Donna is a school teacher at Keller ISD and teaches middle school Career & Technology.
Mr. Welch's current memberships include American Society of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional
Engineers, Northeast Richland Lions Club and Brandonwood Estates Homeowners Association.

Mr. Welch has been recognized and awarded the Partnership Award from the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association 2004 and a nominee Finalist in 2006; Melvin Jones Fellow Award from the Lions Club International Foundation, 2003-2004 and Lion of the Year from the Northeast Richland Lions Club, 2002-2003.
