The Consumer Health Division is charged with protecting the health and safety of the public. Environmental Health Specialists ensure that all food service establishments, mobile food units, public and semi-public swimming pools, and childcare centers meet safe and sanitary requirements by developing and implementing health education, investigation and enforcement programs. The Consumer Health Division also issues permits for waste haulers and oversees the City's West Nile Virus Response Plan. Consumer Health is part of the Neighborhood Services Department.
