Maintenance Worker I-Utilities (10-026-083010C)

Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to preserve safe operations of water and sewer utilities for the City. This is accomplished by maintaining and repairing water and sewer lines and taps and performing sewer repair work from the camera truck. Other duties may include ensuring the safety of equipment and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees. REQUIRES: High school diploma or GED equivalent; no experience required; a valid Texas Class C Driver License; and must obtain a valid Class B learner’s permit within 30 days as a condition of continued employment and must obtain a valid Class B CDL with Tank Endorsement within 90 days of employment as a condition of continued employment.




Maintenance Worker II - Utilities (10-022-081810C)

Salary: $25,548/yr $12.28/hr

Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to ensure proper operation of the City’s utility lines. This is accomplished by operating heavy equipment, completing valve maintenance procedures, assisting with repairing main break leaks, maintaining City’s fire hydrants, locating utility lines for new and existing construction purposes, providing direction to Maintenance Worker I, communicating and coordinating utility maintenance efforts with contractors and inspectors. Other duties include maintaining utility maintenance equipment and interacting with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees. REQUIRES: High school diploma or GED equivalent; one year experience in water/wastewater maintenance or related field; and a Class B CDL with tank endorsement.
