Tipps Canine Hollow provides a safe environment for pet owners to unleash their
dogs and let them exercise and socialize freely without disrupting the
activities of others. The park includes a 2-acre fenced area for large dogs and
1-acre fenced area for small dogs. The park also offers water stations, dog
waste stations, plenty of open space to run, and shady areas for relaxing.
Park hours are 8 a.m. to dusk daily. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult when visiting the dog park, and children under 7 are not allowed in the large dog area. Click here to view and print park rules. These rules are posted near the park's entry gates. Taser devices are not allowed to be used in the dog park. Tipps Canine Hollow at Northfield Park was named in honor of the Tipps Family. The Tipps Family are long-time residents of North Richland Hills and have served the community in numerous capacities. Don Tipps served on the NRH Parks & Recreation Board for 18 years, including 10 years as chairman, and was an integral part of the early development of the City's park system. He is a retired educator and counselor with the Birdville Independent School District where he worked for more than 25 years. Doris Tipps serves on the Keep NRH Beautiful Committee and is also a retired educator from BISD where she served for 30 years. Their daughter Tracye Tipps was a guiding force in development of the dog park. Are you interested in helping to form a Dog Park Association?
