street or on private property.
How can I find out if my property is in the flood plain?
Flood plain determinations are made by Public Works at (817) 427-6400. You will
need the name of your subdivision, the platted lot and block numbers, your
street address and a daytime phone number for the return call.
Can I get another driveway?
Driveway approaches are regulated based on the street size, lot location, lot
size and the number and size of existing approaches. A building permit is
required and may be applied for at City Hall through the Planning and
Inspections Department.
What is the construction schedule for a particular City project?

The City evaluates all City streets on an annual basis. The streets are rated
on traffic volume, age, drainage, structural damage and smoothness. Street
projects are then developed based on available funding and the street's

Before 7:30 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m., you need to call the Police Department at
817-427-7000 to report a wastewater backup or a water leak. The Police
Department will contact the appropriate people after hours to respond.

Where does North Richland Hills water come from?
North Richland Hills purchases water from the City of Fort Worth and Trinity
River Authority. The water originates at either Cedar Creek Lake or Lake
Arlington.
How do I request emergency services?
The Public Works Utility Division provides 24 hour service. If you are calling
Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 PM, call (817) 427-6460. After hours and

Is there a charge for calling the City to investigate sewer problems?
No, this is part of the Public Works Utility Division daily operations.
Is the water in North Richland Hills tested?

Quality to sample the water for bacterial contamination a minimum of 60 times
per month.
