Project Management

Project Management is responsible for the construction and renovations of City facilities
as well as Energy Management Programs.
The most recent construction project was the Live Fire Training Facility located at 7204
Dick Fisher Drive North. The facility provides NRH Fire Personnel a 'clean burn' method of
practicing their skills in extinguishing building content fires. Other recent projects
include interior and exterior renovations at Fire Stations 2 & 3, Public Works Utility,
Bursey Road and Dan Echols Senior Centers, and the Police Department.
Project Management's involvement in Energy Management Programs includes the State mandate
for the reduction of electrical usage. Through the installation of energy efficient HVAC systems,
set-back thermostats, lighting controls, thermal insulated windows and other changes, the City's usage
of electricity has been reduced by 5% or more for each of the past 5 years. Recently, the City
received a Certificate of Recognition from the Texas Office of the Comptroller for efforts made in
energy efficiency and improving air quality in the State of Texas.
Emergency back-up power for critical operations at specific City facilities is another area
of energy management. Some of our ongoing projects include upgrading existing systems as well as
installing equipment at other City facilities when necessary for critical operations.
