Assistant Chief Rick Scott began his law enforcement career with the North Richland Hills Police Department in 1997 as a police officer recruit. On February 1, 2004, he was promoted to sergeant. In September 2008, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant followed eight months later with his promotion to captain in May 2009.
Assistant Chief Scott holds a Master Peace Officer License, he is a graduate of the 46th Session of the Senior Management Institute for Police (PERF) in Boston, and the IACP’s Leadership in Police Organizations Program in Plano. He has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. Assistant Chief Scott is a graduate from the 248th session of the FBI National Academy and recently served on the Criminal Justice Policy Development Committee for the North Texas Region Council of Governments.
