Mayor Pro Tem Tito Rodriguez
Sixto A. “Tito” Rodriguez III was elected to the City Council in May 2011 and re-elected in 2013.

Raised in San Antonio, Mr. Rodriguez has been a resident of North Richland Hills for more than 17 years. He is a graduate of Columbia College in Fort Worth with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Financial Services.

After 31 years of employment with the State of Texas, where he worked for the Office of the Attorney General as a Special Investigator, he retired in March 2014. He currently is the Executive Director of the Birdville Education Foundation.

Mr. Rodriguez serves on the:
  • National League of Cities (NLC) Community & Economic Development Steering Committee
  • Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO) Board of Directors
  • Texas Municipal League (TML) Resolutions Committee

Prior to being elected to the City Council, Mr. Rodriguez served on the following city boards and committees:
  • Teen Court Advisory Committee 
  • Red Light Camera Advisory Committee 
  • Zoning Board of Adjustments 
  • Parks & Recreation Board 
  • Parks & Recreation Facilities Development Corp 
  • Crime Control & Prevention District Referendum Citizen Committee

Mr. Rodriguez has also served and/or serves on the following Birdville ISD committees: 
  • TEE (Teaming for Excellence in Education Committee), 2006 
  • Bond Study Review Committee, 2010 
  • Law Enforcement / Firefighter Advisory Committee, 2011

Additionally, Mr. Rodriguez continues to be an active volunteer in the following organizations: 
  • NRH Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (President: 2008 – 2010) 
  • NRH Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association

  • NRH Amateur Radio Club 
  • Northeast Richland Lions Club

He has also served as a bilingual poll worker for Tarrant County Elections.

  • Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce Hometown Hero Award – 2009 
  • NRH Police Department Shining Star Award – 2009

Mr. Rodriguez and Sue Isbell, a longtime resident of North Richland Hills, have been together for over 17 years. He has the pleasure of sharing in the lives and families of Sue’s 3 children (Darren, Donnie and Shonna) and 4 grandchildren (Shelby, Tiana, Trae and Aubrey).
