Stimulus Projects
American Recovery & Reinvestment Act
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was signed into law on February 17, 2009, by President Barack Obama. It is intended to jump-start the economy as the nation tries to recover from a global economic downturn. Money will flow from the federal government to states, cities, non-profits and other agencies and organizations. Funding will come through many different processes and for a wide variety of goals and priorities.
Because the effects of the downturn are being felt locally here in North Richland Hills, the City of North Richland Hills has pursued various funding opportunities that are available to cities to assist our local economy. These include opportunities in areas ranging from infrastructure projects to environmental programs. The federal government has stressed that transparency and public involvement are vital parts of the stimulus process, and the City of North Richland Hills will focus on these aspects as we pursue stimulus funding.
