TollTags Now Available at City Hall
The Utility Customer Service Office at City Hall is more than just the place to pay your water bills. You now
can open a TollTag account.
The City recently entered into an agreement with the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) to distribute TollTags
as a convenience to the traveling public. TollTags are electronic transponders that are mounted on vehicle windshields
to allow vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping.
A TollTag can be obtained by completing an application in the Utility Customer Service Office at City Hall,
7301 N.E. Loop 820, or online by clicking here. Applicants enter appropriate information
including the description of the vehicle (year, make, model, number of axles), permanent license plate number,
driver's license number and credit card information. The name on the application must match the name on the driver's
license and credit card. The TollTag requires a $40 initial prepayment for up to 3 vehicles. There is no billing,
the credit card is automatically charged when the balance falls below $10.
After you complete an application at City Hall, City staff will issue the TollTag(s) immediately. If you apply for
your TollTag online, you may pick up the TollTag at City Hall.
TollTags work on any toll road in the state and have many benefits including:
- Save up to 40% compared to non-TollTag customers;
- Less time commuting;
- Parking and pass through at DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field;
- Up to 3 TollTags per account at no additional charge.
Residents who purchase TollTags can also have a direct impact on local transportation funding because
TXDOT releases funds for general transportation improvements based on the percentage of TollTag users from
each county.
