NRH Parking Ordinances

The City of North Richland Hills reminds residents and visitors to our community of the following parking regulations:

18 Wheeler Truck Parking
(Section 54-176 of the Code of Ordinances)

It is a violation of the City's Code of Ordinances for any 18-wheeler (truck tractor, truck trailer or truck tractor trailer rig) to be parked or stored on any public street, public right-of-way, median, parkway, athletic field or other public property within the city, other than for a bona fide pickup or delivery to that location.

It is also a violation for any 18-wheeler tractor/trailer to be parked or stored on any parking lot, playground, vacant lot, public or private school, church premises or residential property in the city, other than for a bona fide pickup or delivery to that location or in conjunction with a legally permitted business lawfully conducted at that location.

The City of North Richland Hills will ask the owner/operator of any 18-wheeler tractor/trailer in violation of this ordinance to move the vehicle. If the owner/operator cannot be located warnings, orange violation stickers, or citations may be utilized to resolve the matter.

Vehicles Displayed for Sale
(Sec. 34-33 (14) of the City's Code of Ordinances)

It is a violation of the City's Code of Ordinances to park an automobile, boat, trailer or any other type of vehicle on any public street, playground, park, athletic field, or schoolyard with any type of sign or writing on the vehicle, which offers the vehicle for sale.

On private residential property no more than two vehicles (automobile, boat, trailer or any other type of vehicle) can be offered for sale from that property within any one calendar year.

On commercial property an automobile, boat, trailer, or any other type of vehicle cannot be offered for sale, unless the property is zoned for automobile sales.

The City of North Richland Hills will ask the property owner or the owner/operator of any vehicle in violation of this ordinance to move the vehicle. If the owner/operator cannot be located warnings, orange violation stickers, or citations may be utilized to resolve the matter.
