Year-Round Water Conservation
Efficient water use is important all the time, not just during the summer months. That is why the City of North Richland Hills is extending its water conservation requirements year round.
Starting October 1, 2008 the ordinance that prohibits outdoor watering between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will be in effect year round for all residential and commercial water customers. In the past, this measure has been in effect only during the summer months.
Throughout the year, all irrigation systems should be set to operate in the early morning or late evening, when the sun and temperatures are less likely to cause evaporation. Exceptions are allowed for watering by hand, using soaker hoses, repairing irrigation systems and establishing new turf.
Water is a precious natural resource that we must use wisely and protect for future generations. North Richland Hills and neighboring communities are partnering together to make this year-round water conservation effort uniform across Tarrant County. Your cooperation and support plays a critical role in our success and we appreciate your help and understanding.
