Tree Planting Program
The Parks and Recreation Department conducts an annual tree planting program to enhance the urban forest of North Richland Hills. Each year, trees are planted to provide shade, cooling and color to the landscape to help beautify parks, medians, trails and municipal sites. Trees are also planted to replace those that have died or been damaged by natural forces such as disease or weather or human activity. In addition to the aesthetic benefits, the trees planted in North Richland Hills help in reducing storm water runoff and soil erosion, trap pollutants and help sequester carbon from the atmosphere.
