Garbage & Recycling Collection
Service Provider
The City of North Richland Hills contracts with Republic Waste Services for garbage and recycle collection. To report missed pickups or for questions about garbage and recycling services, please call Republic at 817-317-2085 Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Reminders
Leaves
Bagged leaves can be placed on the curb on your normal trash collection days. Yard waste should be placed in a pile that is separate from household waste. If trucks are getting full, crews will give priority to household trash and yard waste may not be picked up until your next collection day.
Place Trash / Recycling at Curb by 7 a.m.
Republic Waste wishes to remind NRH customers to have your garbage and recycling on the curb by 7 a.m. on your day of service. Recent changes to collection routes have changed the time of day that some neighborhoods are collected. To ensure your garbage and recycling are picked up, they should always be on the curb by 7 a.m.
Please bag and tie your trash
The City of North Richland Hills and Republic Waste Services are asking residents to make sure that all household trash is bagged and tied before placing it in your trash can or on the curb. Doing this helps to protect our trash collectors from the spread of germs and also keeps litter out of our neighborhoods. Place bagged household trash in a separate pile from bagged yard waste. If crews are unable to take all items, priority will be given to the household trash. Since recyclables are collected by an automated truck, they do not need to be bagged and you can continue placing them directly into your recycling cart. Republic Waste is committed to the safety of our community and their employees and appreciates your cooperation.
Bin Placement
Garbage cans and recycle carts should be placed at the curb no earlier than 7:00 p.m. the evening before collection, nor later than 7:00 a.m. the day of collection. Place recycling cart with wheels next to curb, at least 3 feet from garbage bags, cans, mailboxes, and 5 feet from parked vehicles.
Empty cans and carts should be removed from curbside after collection, before the end of the day. Trash and recycling containers are required to be stored out of public view except during the times allowed for them to be placed for collection.
Collection Days
Residences located south of the railroad tracks are serviced on Monday and Thursday and those north of the railroad tracks are serviced on Tuesday and Friday. Recycling is collected on one of your designated service days. Collections may change during holiday weeks. View the Holiday Collection Schedule.
Billing
Garbage service is billed with your city water and sewer bill. Residential rates vary between regular and senior citizen. Account holders, age 65 and older receive a $0.75 discount off their garbage fee. For questions about establishing new service or billing, please contact the NRH Water Department at 817-427-6200.
