Garbage & Recycling Collection

Storm Cleanup

The drop off site at Green Valley Park is now closed. The following options are still available for NRH residents to dispose of tree limbs and other debris from the storm on Aug. 29:

  • Limbs can be placed curbside for collection on any of your normal trash collection days. Limbs need to be bundled and cut into sections that are no longer than 4 feet in length and no more than 50 pounds. Fence panels should be cut into 4 foot sections.
  • NRH residents can haul limbs or other storm debris to the landfill in Arlington. Each North Richland Hills household gets two free entries into the landfill per year. A voucher must be presented to the landfill attendant along with your driver’s license. Vouchers may be obtained online at or at the Water Department at City Hall.

Please bag and tie your trash

The City of North Richland Hills and Republic Waste Services are asking residents to make sure that all household trash is bagged and tied before placing it in your trash can or on the curb. Doing this helps to protect our trash collectors from the spread of germs and also keeps litter out of our neighborhoods. Place bagged household trash in a separate pile from bagged yard waste. If crews are unable to take all items, priority will be given to the household trash. Since recyclables are collected by an automated truck, they do not need to be bagged and you can continue placing directly into your recycling cart. As trash and recycling service continues during the pandemic, Republic Waste is committed to the safety of our community and their employees and appreciates your cooperation.

Service Provider

The City of North Richland Hills contracts with Republic Waste Services for garbage and recycle collection. To report missed pickups or for questions about garbage and recycling services, please call 817-427-6200.

Bin Placement

Garbage cans and recycle carts should be placed at the curb no earlier than 7:00 p.m. the evening before collection, nor later than 7:00 a.m. the day of collection. Place recycling cart with wheels next to curb, at least 3 feet from garbage bags, cans, mailboxes, and 5 feet from parked vehicles.

Empty cans and carts should be removed from curbside after collection, before the end of the day. Trash and recycling containers are required to be stored out of public view except during the times allowed for them to be placed for collection.
