Holiday Closings


We will be closed for the holidays on Dec. 24 & 25 and on Jan. 1. If you have an animal emergency you can call 817-281-1000 to reach police dispatch. For all other inquiries, please give us a call after the holiday. Thank you and have a safe holiday.

Holiday Adoption Special


November and December are "Fur-Ever Homes for the Holidays" and all dog and cat adoptions are half-price.

About Us


The North Richland Hills Animal Adoption & Rescue Center (AARC) is owned and operated by the City of North Richland Hills with support from our community. AARC exists to help protect the health, safety and welfare of both people and animals in the community.
 

Goal


Our goal is to provide services to the public promptly and with professional precision tempered with compassion for those animals that can not speak for themselves. Our staff has been recognized both at the state and national level for outstanding excellence in both programs and performance of duties.
   

Responsibilities

  • Enforce city ordinances;
  • Provide a safe haven for lost, abandoned and unwanted pets;
  • Reduce pet overpopulation;
  • Return lost pets to their homes; 
  • Assist with urban wildlife conflicts;
  • Re-home pets into loving, permanent homes.
