Fall Community Cleanup Bulky Item Drop Off Event

Saturday, October 24, 2020

North Richland Hills residents can get rid of unwanted bulky items during the annual Fall Community Cleanup on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Items can be dropped off from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Tarrant County College – Northeast Campus, 828 Harwood Road, Parking Lot E-1 (by the Tennis Court). Please enter from Boulevard 26. Do not enter from Harwood Road. Proof of residency (driver's license or water bill) must be presented. Workers will be on site to help unload and keep the line moving as quickly as possible. Drop-off will cease when trucks are full so please arrive early!

The City of North Richland Hills reminds you that old furniture, appliances, car parts, downed tree limbs, scrap metal, building materials and other discarded items should not be stored in your yard or driveway. It is not only unattractive, it can become a breeding ground for insects and rodents and a safety hazard. Please be a good neighbor and chunk your junk! If you have bulky items cluttering your property, you can get rid of them at the Fall Community Cleanup on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Paper shredding will also be offered at this event. Tires and donations of household items will not be accepted this year.

Items accepted:

  • Brush, limbs
  • Fence panels, scrap wood
  • Furniture, Stoves, Dryers, Dishwashers
  • Other Bulky Items
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Containerized bricks, rocks or concrete
  • Non-Hazardous Household Products

Items NOT accepted:

  • Refrigerators
  • Tires
  • Trailers filled with loose bricks, rock or concrete.
  • Household Hazardous Waste - paints, thinners, acids, solvents, car batteries, pesticides, motor oil, anti-freeze, etc.
  • Donations of household goods, televisions or electronics. Residents are encourage to donate items directly to a local charity such as Goodwill, Second Glance, Grace Donation Center or the Salvation Army.

Paper Shredding

Limited space. First come, first served. North Richland Hills residents are limited to five average-size file boxes of paper to be securely shredded on-site and then recycled. To limit the amount of personal contact, boxes of shredding should be placed in the trunk of the vehicle for staff to remove on-site. Residents are to stay in their vehicle. This service will be available from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or until trucks are full. The shred trucks are often filled by 11 a.m.

Many bulky items can also be placed curbside for pickup with your normal trash collection. For more details go online to www.nrhtx.com/garbage and click on Acceptable Garbage. If you have questions, please contact Code Compliance at 817-427-6663 during normal business hours.
