Expect lane closures during the next two weeks on Iron Horse Boulevard just south of Mid Cities Boulevard near the NRH Animal Adoption & Rescue Center (AARC), while contractors make concrete pavement repairs. The driveway into the AARC off Iron Horse Boulevard is closed during these repairs; however, visitors can still access the facility from Dick Fisher Drive North.
Atmos Energy is also closing various lanes of Iron Horse Boulevard south of the railroad crossing to relocate gas lines along the corridor. Please slow down and watch for workers when traveling in the area.
The utility work being done by Atmos is in preparation for the upcoming reconstruction of Iron Horse Boulevard from York Street to Rufe Snow Drive, which will begin this spring. Another project to reconstruct Iron Horse Boulevard from Rufe Snow Drive to Browning Drive is expected to begin construction later in the year. Both projects are part of the 2020 Street Bond Program.
