Scammers are at it again! A few community members let us know that they received a call from someone claiming to be with the water department. The scammer stated their bill was past due and they need to pay right away to avoid shut off. Fortunately, they did not provide the caller with payment and contacted the Water Office to verify that their account was, in fact, not delinquent.
Don’t be fooled by scam calls. Never provide any financial information or other personal information to someone who calls you demanding payment. Always contact your utility directly, via the number on your bill, to confirm your account information and payment history.
