Glenview Drive Reconstruction

Lane Closed Sign

Motorists should expect lane closures on Glenview Drive for street reconstruction.

Traffic on Glenview is reduced to one lane in each direction from Boulevard 26 to Flory Street starting today (Monday, Feb. 5). Traffic control measures will also be put in place the week of Feb. 12 from the western city limits at Waycrest Drive to Honey Lane. Text Glenview to 888777 to receive periodic lane closure and construction updates.

The existing 4-lane asphalt roadway will be replaced with reinforced concrete pavement. The road will be rebuilt to its current width.  Sidewalk improvements and underground utility and drainage improvements will also be made.

Construction contracts were awarded at the City Council's Oct. 23, 2023 meeting. Reliable Paving is reconstructing Glenview Drive from Boulevard 26 to Flory Street. Funding for this segment is from 2003 general obligation bonds and the Tarrant County 2021 Transportation Bond Program. Quality Excavation is reconstructing Glenview Drive from Honey Lane to the western city limit. Funding for this segment is from the 2020 Street Bond Program

The recent construction on Glenview prior to this street reconstruction project was a gas pipeline improvement project by Atmos. Coordination of the gas pipeline work before the city's roadway project significantly reduces the need for disruptive maintenance or repair of aging underground facilities once the new street is in place.
